look at the Netherlands and Switzerland.. there are other countries with universal health care that make it work. there tax rates are higher and the populous accepts it for the greater good.
if a 50+yr old retired woman who works her ass off and has a modest nest egg for retirement suddenly gets cancer and gets loaded up with medical bills, should she be expected to deplete her savings because that is the way the cookie crumbles? that is the american way?
that is not the america that i aspire to pass on. fuck that.
we spend 300x more than any country on defense. we give billions in aid countries all over the world.
we make cutsto the above and give our poor, vets, elderly and sick aid right here at home.- higher wage earners and better education. and they use healthcare differently too********
- read an article abotu a kid who wasnt paying attention. doctor said get exercise instead of pills. culture seems more responsible********
- to hold individuals responsible. not so much in us. its jsut hard to make the comparison and think it will work********
