there´s nothing to figure out, if you have to have an answer you develop your own belief system or choose one of the ready-to-go systems. done.
christianity, rationalism, tantra, egocentric materialism, whatevs. some may call theirs non-belief but it´s just the same. sure thing is there won´t be an answer if you don´t ground your ass on a spiritual/material foundation. doesn´t matter which, no right or wrong.
alternative/simple route/natural thing would be to just ignore the question alltogether.
all else = pubescent limbo.
