And by "the alleged influences of obscure religious philosophers on Republican candidates" you are referring to the long established beliefs of American Christian sects that have people driving cars around the country with pictures of dead fetuses on it, the endorsement on major airwaves of killing abortion doctors, and letting women carry the child of their rapists to full term?
Last I heard these all happen and aren't "alleged", but go ahead and keep living in your little fantasy world.
