since I somehow have no respect and a loud voice deserving of your ridicule i'll address a few things regarding my stated opinions.

    to OP:
my point being, why take advice from strangers to acquire a personal gift? I have several friends work and personal, none of which would receive the same gift as they are all different people from me.

    to detritus:
Your berating me on this site is tired. I'm glad you get a sense of self righteousness with every insinuation you spew my way. quite simply, i have a lot to be thankful for and those that know me fully understand the depth of my gratitude and dedication. I'll avoid wasting time finding the thank you you wrote me when i performed tasks on this site for you, requests ignored by its founding members.

    to PeterH:
I usually bring liquor or cigars. For some reason I was the cigar guy at a lot of parties I attended in Cali over the past couple years. I attribute it to a Masters graduation party I attended when the hostess, a close friend of mine joked i bring cigars. Being me I took it seriously and acquired a selection based on known food and drink items, some for before eating others while after when when drinking. Then it just became, you have to bring some cigars and so it was born.

Wine is an easy thing, of course I would, it's not as common when I'm in KS as in CA. I am a cook though, I've been invited to many a shin dig with the knowledge I would have responsibilities in the kitchen, so there is involvement and gifts in tow... again depending on the situation.

to reiterate: select something that matters to you, not a tired cliche on a design forum message board.

even if it is just an overpriced hypo-allergenic gluten/wheat/peanut/egg free cake mix so that their 3 year old son can have a cake for his birthday that doesn't taste like powder.

    • Dude. If you post opinions be ready to have them questioned. Especially if your opinion includes calling other peoples opinion cliche'd and unwantedPeter

    • That said: I love cigars. But I'd never bring gift it unless I were sure everyone was smoking :)Peter
