^ I was on the dole for 1 year after I finished university (I failed my GCSE's, had to retake them. I was first in my family to go to university. I stayed at home and went to local university as I couldn't afford to go away to university. I had kids just like these rioters steal my bicycle, throw apples at me, shout names at me. I didn't have any friends at uni as everyone else was in halls and i was left out of it all) - and as part of the dole scheme, you could get a refurbished PC for £60, which also included a printer and modem. That was my first step towards being a designer. I didn't have rich parents buying for me a Mac and Photoshop. I used demos and free software alternatives. And before getting the computer I used paper and pencil. It took effort and time, but I got there eventually. Now I'm independent and can respectfully pay my own way through life. I have a career. And I know the value of my effort. I'm not mega rich, but I'm happy to wake up and see the sun, or hear the birds singing, or see the smile of a friend.
These rioters - I can't understand their mentality. I can only imagine their brains have be rewired through binge drinking and drugs.
- These london rioters can at least intern in London as they live here. It was impossible for me...orpkoobcam2
