This show was taken and adjusted for American audiences from the hugely successful Australian original. I have watched both, and think that the American version (at least in the first 4 episodes) is fucking awesome. I hope it continues.
The episode where Wilfred chases the red laser pointer had me in stitches, as did the scene where Wilfred is trained to sit down using the clicker. There are too many great moments to recount them all, and anyway, I don't want to ruin it for anyone else.
