I spent the morning at the shooting range with my wife, son and father-in-law.
It was a day of firsts. The missus was breaking in her newest revolver, while my father-in-law was giving a first go-around to his new muzzle loader. My pre-teen was trying his hand for the first time using a pistol. All three (and me, too, of course) had a great time and performed admirably.
At no point were we worried about a home invasion or considering making a political statement. We neither murdered nor defended. We simply had a fantastic time.
I know gun ownership is a regional/cultural thing (I live in a rural part of the states where it is very acceptable), but outside of reasonable context, some of these comments sound ridiculous; borderline retarded.
For the record, the muzzle loader (though stupid slow to load) was the most fun to shoot today.
- In my opinion there are literally thousands of other means of having fun. Guns are made to kill. Not cool.********
- When I can start dictating which means of fun you're permitted to enjoy, you can start dictating what is cool.melq
- I can dictate my opinion on what is cool whenever the fuck I like.********
