I would avoid 9mm and got with a 40cal. It's a large gun but why not go with a glock 22?
The issue is if someone breaks in your home, you can shoot them with a 9mm and they can keep going unless its a heart or head shot. That's not the case with 40cal, which is why all police use that now. A body shot with a 40cal will displace everything around it.
Id rather have a larger gun with serious stopping power than being worried about having a tiny gun.
