I once partnered up with my next door neighbor to throw a theme party. It was "Jocks & Nerds" and for one house we recreated the tri-lamda frat house sign and for the other the Alpha Beta sign from Revenge of the Nerds. Guests dressed as nerds and jocks, and that's where it got interesting. Some really fit guys dressed as women's tennis players and the nerd outfits were outrageous. Simple, fun, effective.
