making streaming a Felony.. oppose Bill S. 978 (united states)

business's lobbyists are launching another attack on Internet culture. Senators are considering a "Ten Strikes" bill to make it a felony to stream copyrighted content -- like music in the background of a Youtube video, lets play videos or any copywrite content regardless of context.

Ten strikes and you could get jail time. Less than a month ago, the Hollywood industry magazine, Variety, reported, "Industry lobbyists pressed House members on Wednesday to pass legislation that would make illegal streaming of movies, TV shows and other types of content a felony...."

i get streaming movies and tv shows. and that content should be protected. but in the case of cute little girl singing lady gaga songs or lets play gaming videos or in youtube's case 80% of the content will be considered a violation due to "public performance of copy written-content"

sign it and send it, tell your lawmakers you want the right to promote content.

      ********
    • still doesn't mean you shouldn't oppose it by writing your senators.plash
