I have this drive mounted as my boot drive in a custom box I assembled this past March... quite frankly the $$ I poured into RAM (24 GB's) was a better investment - no distinguishable difference in boot sequence speed... I'd opt for a quick, 7200 (or even the new 10,000) RPM, terrabyte drive for now; I agree SSD pricing is way too expensive for the return on your investment. Then there is the nasty little habit of Premiere always wanting to write temp files to your boot drive... a 120GB SSD, as an example, will fill up, fast!
- out of interest.. have you had any luck setting up a ram drive? if so.. how?detritus
- not aware of anything under Windows 7 - I believe there are 3rd party solutions available...adumbratesly
