do they open in other software. preview or irfanview? if yes, save as with new name and everything is ok. irfanview has worked for me in the past.
http://www.irfanview.com/- won't open in preview or fireworks (only 2 i've tried) and this irfanview thing is PC only. Thanks anyway.stepson
