FYI - I have been doing some reading about how to restore applications and files from Time Machine and came across this pretty decent walk through.
When Lion is released I'm thinking of doing a full fresh install of it on my MBP. Wasn't sure exactly how Time Machine backups carry over, but this looks like a good guide.
Also - has anyone backed up applications and files from Time Machine before to a new install? Did you have any software like Photoshop or Logic, with serial numbers and registration features? Did they need to be re-registered, or did they just carry over flawlessly?
