well, that's odd, I do the same thing, offer freebies, in fact check the sound button thread above and occasionally throw a free Loopkit CD around. I for sure think you can get your name out there if you do such a thing. I get about 300 to 500 unique hits a day with about 3 to 5 sales per day, which equals profit. :)
