they may also have to do a search to see if any similar logos exist....
I once worked for a nonprofit who had to change our logo, which really sucked, as the GIANT insurance company who thought our logo infringed on theirs had lawyers up the wazoo and we had to reprint thousands of flyers, brochures, T-shirts,etc...
