    It's very quick for building them, and I basically use it as a way of preventing myself from overdesigning at the first step.

    No typeface choices.
    Not pixel perfect, but snap-fitting.
    Big gallery of ready-built page components.

    I used to mock in AI/PS, but after giving Balsamiq a go (also used Gliffy and GoMockingbird for a while) I found I prototyped quicker.

    I also hand things over the my boss if he wants to make suggestions and it's very simply drag and drop stuff.

    It's a designers tool that forces the client to think about layout e.t.c and not get caught up in the gloss, and also it's a tool that your client/boss can easily use to give their input.
