I went on a deer hunt many years ago, but didn't see a single buck. Never went hunting again, although I have nothing against it per se. If a hunter is (1) an accomplished marksman who can kill quickly and efficiently, (2) plans to make full use of the meat and pelt rather than merely hanging a head on his wall, and (3) is hunting sober and legally, then it's great. It's certainly more humane than the way many animals are slaughtered. A high-powered bullet to the spine, heart, or head works much faster than a knife to the jugular, for instance.
