    The problem with your theory, as with all sweeping conspiracy theories, is that it depends on a very large number of people staying quiet. Given that a tell-all book, and the publicity generated therein, on how professional sports is rigged would create far more profit than most pro athletes make, how could those in control possibly keep everyone quiet?
