^^^^The moto license isnt too tough. But I would suggest taking the motorcycle safety foundation class. http://www.msf-usa.org/index_new…
Not only does it exempt you from taking the riding exam at the dmv, it also saves you 20% on insurance. If I recall, it was 4 classes. 2 in the classroom, 2 on the range (they provide the bikes). Plus, they really do teach you a lot, even if you've been riding awhile.
The DMV written test is a bit harder and longer than the standard driving test. They'll ask you multiple choice ?'s where all 4 answers seem correct, but the point is to trip you up. What might be correct or most safe in a car, is different on a bike.
All in all, take the class $250ish, apply for M1 and take test at DMV $50ish. and you can get it w/in a few weeks.- great info, thank threadpost.akrok
