You know why the Heat lost last night? It's not because Bronbron got 0 pts. It's not because Wade got a major hip contusion on what should have been a fucking offensive foul for charging. It's not because Bibby was cold, or that Haslem was cold.
Eric Fucking Spoelstra is why the Heat lost last night and no one is talking about that angle. No, people would rather point fingers at the players who are on the floor playing their hearts out.
Spoelstra, that Simpsons character looking motherfucker, lost the game for his team with all of the substitutions. There is no way you can win a game at this level when you are subbing every five minutes. There's absolutely no way to get into a rhythm when the longest play time anyone is logging is 5-10 minutes. Add to that the fact that he blew a huge timeout when D. Wade came back to the bench. Seriously? You put D. Wade in right away, and then two baskets (roughly 35 seconds of play clock) later, you call a timeout because obviously there's no rhythm on the floor.
Micky Arison and Pat Riley should be up in Spoelstra's asshole from now until Sunday. Carlisle, on the other hand, is demonstrating he is truly a top-notch coach in this Finals series. Some of the play calls and subs have been spot-on. Indiana Pacers are probably crying in a corner somewhere right now.
All that said, I don't have a dog in this fight, and am really torn on who I want to win. Do I want the Heat to win and finally put an end to all the media clamoring and return to the other 29 excellent teams in the league? Or do I want three excellent vets—all three of which I respect as players—to finally get their rings? Hmm...
Sunday is gonna be such a great game.
