okay then...
What I don't like about the show is this: Why gay men as the teachers?
I have nothing against anyone's sexuality, I have a few gay friends and get along with them great.
But isn't it interesting to think how it's easy to assume the show would be a failure if it were straight men making over a straight man's wardrobe, home, kitchen skills, etc.
A subject that really has nothing to do with sexuality comes down to being a failure of a show BECAUSE of sexuality.
Interesting perspective, isn't it?Viewers get to watch the show, laugh at the Fab 5's gayness and be entertained by them from the confines of their living room couch, all safe and secure in their straight world. At the same time, they get to cheer for the Fab 5 and their mostly positive makovers of men who needed them and whose lives are vastly improved (in our eyes), physically and mentally, and we get to see their friends and significant other be really impressed and fawning over the new look and skills.
Looks and skills that could ALL be taught by straight men. Looks and skills that ALL men, gay or straight should be comfortable with.
But, like I said, it would probably be a boring, unwatched show if it weren't for the Fab 5 and all that they are...
