@GeorgesII if you buy a song you have it on up to 10 devices, if you snap pictures in your iPhone those land straight into your iPhoto without having to plug the iPhone to the computer.
Also, when you buy an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch you no longer need to plug it to a computer in order to use it for the 1st time. Also: system updates over the air.
