I've bashed the show pretty hardcore a few times because I think it tends to paint this ideal that you have to be gay to know how to do certain things: buy wine, buy clothes, dress yourself, not live like a slob, cook well, etc.
But I've watched several episodes lately and I really do enjoy seeing men who were utterly aimless in their lives develop confidence and feel good about themselves. God knows we've seen women's shows do this for a decade at least, (Hi Oprah!)
The one that really sealed that for me was the recent one with the father who got rid of his hairpiece he'd had for 13 years. He looked great, he was confident and sure of himself, he was genuine in wanting to portay all of that to his children and not hide his baldness anymore.
I think that takes guts for some men.
