The problem is, art directors etc don't need to hover behind you if they brief you properly and tell you exactly what they want.
It should go like this:
Art director > proper full and articulate brief > Designer > review (A proper review where you all sit around a desk with a decent monitor and look at the work together. Not from over the designers shoulder – you're seeing the screen at an angle then, how can your review it properly?)Instead it goes like this:
Art Director > Brief? > Designer "wtf?" > Designer asks around to try to assemble the brief themselves but gets no where as the Art Director is too busy with his ipad and gossiping with the Creative Director and Account handlers are too hyper and just as clueless > Designer does their best given the crap brief > Art director hovers and then now seeing something can finally decide what they want "oh it's good but I was thinking this and that...etc.." > Designer thinks 'wtf, why didn't you f**king tell me what you was thinking in the first place you twat.' but says "oh, ok" [repeat these last two steps at least 10 times in a day] > Designers soul is destroyed, spends rest of day on QBN.
