For our shareholders - they own this Health Insurance company - we pay them the profits that we make by taking all the premiums, subtracting some, then paying the health care costs from the rest.
But, that's just a kind of legitimised theft, isn't it ?
Well, yes and no. Yes it is, and no - you're not covered.

You're not covered, all your premium payments count for nothing - this isn't a bank, you know - it's insurance.
So all my previous premiums have gone to pay for other people's treatments, AND the profits to your shareholders ?

But that's like - well, it IS socialism, isn't it ? With the worst of capitalism thrown in - not only do I pay for everyone else's treatment, I also just GIVE some other people, neither patients nor healthcare professionals, some of my money for nothing ?
