I caught one in the shin when I was like 17, I knew I was shot the second it happend cause the force knocked me down, and the burning.
lucky no serious damage was done, and I don't walk with a limb but it did promote me to changed my ways a bit, and stop hanging out groups that get into that sort of thing.
but I would say the burning was like someone stabbing you with a hot fireplace poker
