Why you guys talking so much trash on Westbrook? You do understand the kid has zero experience in the big games, right? You can't really mention last year's playoffs, because no one really counts getting axed bloodily in the first round by the Lakers to be any kind of experience.

Westbrook is young as hell to this league, and while he certainly needs to flesh out his decision making skills in clutch moments, in no way do I believe #0 thinks he's better than #35. KD can't make shots with two defenders on him—he's not Nowitzki. Therefore, RW has to try to make plays when KD is locked up, and a lot of the times when you see RW pushing to the paint it's because either Harden or Ibaka are outside the perimeter (not a good look), or locked up outside the key.

Last, I think Scott Brooks is a beast coach and did what a Doc Rivers or Phil Jackson would have done in his shoes last night. He let everyone get minutes last night that needed to see the pressure first-hand; the ones that are young and need to grow. Collison got taken out for Maynard like four times. Granted Collison pulled down too many fouls to warrant keeping him in, but Maynard was allowed to play in this game for a reason. The kid is solid and needs to do what he did last night: fuck up big plays and learn from them. It was undoubtedly going to come down to a Mavs win at the end of the series when they were already leading 3-1 in the series (no team has every come back from a 3-1 deficit in the conference finals).

My only criticism of the Thunder is they need to get rid of the hipster act. You guys are not the Kanyes of basketball:

    • the thunder have so much going for them going forward. harden really impressed me this series/season, and i'm anxious to see how he'll contribute as a starter next year.showpony
    • to see how he'll be able to contribute as a starter next year.showpony
    • me too. van gundy said it best. scott brooks is talking abotu starting harden next season. WHY NOT TODAY?
