    i feel you have found a new term and are trying to use it, but to little effect.

    the fact that the shot is in or outdoors has nothing to do with the decision to overexpose or underexpose the shot.

    you can "crush blacks" whenever you like through exposure control. none of the shots indoors nor out lose the dark detail especially in shadows. I saw your b&w vid, mov4. it was contrasted to all hell.

    that effect never occurs even the slightest in "the other guys" except maybe one hyper stylized scene in the bar, the time lapse walk through. but then again, it's dark in bars, not much shadow detail in real life either.

    you're barking up the wrong tree here bud.
