Its a just a question of if you are capable of trouble shooting the problems / willing to invest some time in a hackintosh build.
A sandybridge i5 2500k system will set you back around £600, and thats a killer cpu, plus a very decent graphics card (a radeon 5850 or a gtx 460).
and as a bonus that i5 2500k, is made for overclocking.
