@soulfly - my kids (2,4) prefer the old mercer mayer, richard scary, and jan/stan berenstain books to newer ones. i dont know why, perhaps it's cause they know i like them more too - but it's been the observation of the wife and i that the books with digital illustration make the kids excited and they'll read them once or twice then never again - while the older ones with 'analog' illustrations are what they fall asleep looking over... not always the case, but mostly - in my house anyway.
