X-box is an ugly slug.
I have experience with the exact same thing as quamb AND the friend has WAY more games on his x-box it's just that it's really unappealing.
Gamecube has wicked single player games and the multiplayer games are unreal - i mean multiplayer mario double dash with a slab of beer and lotso munchies?? can't go wrong.
