goldieboy: "Mono, ask yourself this: Is it really worth the hassle? Would you not rather be out in your spare time, with friends, ladies etc?"
I spend tons of time with my friends, ladies, etc, but I like having a hobby and right now I don't. As a kid I was a tinkerer and I also built a ton of models (cars and planes) and I loved it. I thought having a geeky project like this would be kinda fun and I would also learn a thing or two about computer building. I'm also looking for the simplest build because I don't want a big hassle.
To answer your question: yes, I think it would be worth it in the end because, as much of a fan of Apple as I am, they don't make a fucking "Mac" anymore! They have MacBooks, they have Mac Minis, they have iMacs, and then a HUGE jump to the Mac Pro. Where's the regular fucking Mac that would fit right between the iMac and the Mac Pro? I mean, something with similar specs to an iMac but in a tower. That's what I want to build.
- that "Mac" never existedanimatedgif
- do it. my build thread has a list of cheap components with no issues. do it.johnny_wobble

- Yeah, Until Jobs came back Mac had excellent mid-range coverage.Horp
- When there was high end Quadra, there was mid range Centris, and low-end LC. All extensive ranges.Horp
