"if a republican wins there wont be drastic cuts"
Yeah except they have already spelled out what they want to do (Paul Ryan's budget plan) and it was passed by the Republican house. It privatizes Medicare and makes dramatic cuts to Medicaid and SS while cutting the top tax rate to 25%. Because what the country needs most when it is broke is to give the rich another tax break on top of the Bush tax cuts, lolz.
Of course they exempt current retirees from any of these privatization plans, instead of all of this will be falling on the backs of people like us in our 30s and 40s. We will have far less assistance to count on than any previous generation when we retire, despite paying into these programs just like everyone else if the GOP plan goes through.
That's really what it's down to. Extra money for you when you retire vs. tax cuts for the rich. But I guess libertarians will happily hand over their retirement money in order to stay true to their purist philosophy about government, which of course was invented by think tanks funded by rich people. You gotta laugh at some point.
