  Another fantastic advantage LinkedIn has - assuming your contacts have _theire_ contacts viewable - is that if you're looking for work, you can look at who your contacts know, and approach them directly. A creative direction, art director, desgin director, managing director, whatever. You get the name of someone you want to approach, do a bit of Googling to get their contact details if they're not viewable on their profile, and Bob's your uncle.

  For any sort of online professional networking purpose, LinkedIn can't be beaten.
