I don't know why people get confused about what Linked In is. Basically it is a giant directory of working people.
I can't HURT to add contacts, can it? Who knows, someone may hire you, right? Or you may refer someone?
I see it as very different from Facebook, which I use strictly for personal relationships.
Anyone I ever have worked with or even just met, I add as a connection. I figure it can't hurt.
Some friends get very weird about it, sniffing 'I don't do Linked In' - well fine, who the fuck cares....don't do it. Be stupid.
