The only reason Flash was bad in a way because it was never intended as a programming tool.. so for YEARS we had designers creating super unoptimized, filled with every graphic, animations imaginable to a human being..

This lasted for years.. to be honest when I was working wtih Flash 3,4,5 I was doing the same thing..

So that's where the bad rep started..

Then overtime, as people started learning, Actionscript advanced beyond what you could do with JS and finally became a fully fledged beautiful OOP language with amazing visual capabilities, it got a lot better .. unfortunately you still had people who abused it and pushed the limits to the point of 5mb preloaders and similar..

But let's face it.. this is something that's inevitable with any technology.. You have SHIT apps on App store that kill your iPHone, you have shit apps on Android that kill your ANdroid phone, you have shit HTML websites that crash browser that don't run Flash..

You don't go and start a crusade on a technology that's far far more advanced then HTML5 will ever get because it doesn't perform as great as a native app..

As I said, they should have killed HTML5 and JS support as well because any visual animations or anything more complex then an html text with some css and images will run like SHIT on a mobile device..

That doesn't mean you block it.. you allow it for those who want it and let people decide... by allowing it you are also opening doors for rapid improvement..
