Well, everyone hates the HST.
In his 2008 budget address, Stephen Harper called the HST "the single most important step provinces with retail sales taxes could take to improve the competitiveness of Canadian businesses."
I guess what I'm getting at is that the Conservatives have branded themselves as the "lower tax" or "we don't raise tax" party, but when it comes down to actually governing, they only lower corporate tax.
