no.. Android is still open..the Google is tightening up licensing with those who want to put it on their phone and have Google logo..

You can still download Android from depository.

And what does "OPEN" mean.. you have to stop with this bullshit Apple negative PR just because Android is kicking their ass.

Android is not even in the same league as iOS.. It's OPEN in terms of you can do and connect with whatever APIs you want, you can do whatever you want with it and there's no restrictions unlike Apple.. If you want to use Google logo on your phone and you want to use Marketplace then you will have to abide to Google's rules which are now much more strict to avoid fragmentation..

Amazon App Store is simple proof of that.

When someone makes another iOS app store, we can talk about Apple even having a chance of arguing Android's "openness".

Learn to separate Android as an OS which is completely open, and Google's services, the Marketplace and the licensing terms for phone makers to build Android phones.

    • Gimme the link to download Honeycomb source code then.ernexbcn
    • okay..so will you STFU when they release it? Stop Apple trolling.. Honeycomb is going to be released but Google just doesn't feel it's ready to be publicly deployed.. They do the same thing with Android.. Honeycomb/Android is not a traditional community driven open source project.. it's open source licensed but developed by one company. I think only Apple fanboys have issues understanding this.Boz
