  there's this thing (i believe it is standard in Panther, and optional for download somewhere) that make you type a letter for a app and either opens the app or shows a list of options. i have seen it working on the iBook of a friend and it's very efficient.

  he ditched the dock completely.

  but i forgot the name of the utility..

  anyone?
