OMG, you make a good point. Place a well known celebrity (writer, actor, politician, party girl) to speak, at the school to bring attention is a good idea. To spend that amount of money, in a time where everyone claims to be broke, getting financial aid is hard enough, the school just raised its tuition in order to accommodate the cuts that the state placed, and the school just drops 32k on some party girl?

If I were a student there or a parent that paid for my kid to go there, that would be a slap in my face. Not that the 32k would solve the issue of the tuition hike, but when money is tight, couldn't you move it to more pressing issues instead of an institution glorifying partying?

But you have a valid point. Maybe the news would get around, open up to a whole new group of people that would apply to the school. I guess time will tell.
