Avoid Fireworks... Use PS.
You don't need pages - just group layers and use comps.
You can duplicate symbols using smart objects and copying layers.
PS way more flexible, Fireworks is bollocks IMHO.- While you're fiddling with your layer groups i'm page up/downing through screens like a bossanimatedgif
- no fiddling involved
