  but to agree with GeorgesII...
  He did in fact accomplish some good, and it was not feeding the villagers with elephant meat.

  But he unintentionally brought awareness to people worldwide, that elephants are in fact a problem that needs an intelligent solution and that douchebags like him are able to get away with killing what the want and brag about it for no other reason than it being an expensive hobby, and they will continue to do it, unless another wealthy person (or organization) can step up and put an effective solution to the problem, while making it harder for people like this to go on a rampage shooting wild animals.
