Green is not the number one selling point of using bamboo. It's a high quality, durable material that looks pretty cool. But there are several other benefits:
- Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth, making it a great agricultural crop to build with.
- It sequesters carbon at a higher rate than any other biomass.
- This bamboo is grown locally in Alabama where the bikes are being built, and where many will be ridden, thus minimizing energy used to ship materials.
- It will put Americans to work growing the bamboo and building the bikes.
