^ lol.. what a stupid comparison.. Flash was ahead of time at that point and 3d was non-existant everywhere.. but overall Flash offered something unimaginable at that point..it offered ubiquitous environment for any designer and developer to work in and don't have to worry about browsers, compatibility and other stuff but concentrate on creating engaging content with all kinds of capabilities that you couldn't even begin imagine in HTML.

The same will happen with mobile.. you can laugh all you want but next year, the number 1 development tool for mobile platforms, Tvs and other devices will be Flash/AS3.. especially for 3D games, 3d interfaces and so on..

And yes.. OP has it right.. with only one correction.. Apple killed Flash on their devices.. not in general.. Flash is just fine and stronger than ever really with all the stuff they are coming out with.. but yes.. Apple knows very well what the capabilities of Flash are.. they know very well that we can build, literally native looking apps within a browser with Flash and that would have killed their app store idea right from the start...

You can't do 20-30% of shit in HTML5 what Flash is capable of and that's now.. by next year the capabilities of Flash will be again 10 years ahead of anything HTML5 has and guess what? it will work on mobile devices, on TVs, on tablets and all kinds of stuff and allow you to write and design applications and games however you want and publish without recoding everything in 5 native languages and platforms. Something that even HTML5/JS won't be able to do properly. Even Unity guys see it.. Flash 11 is the future for rich interactive content.

    • Flash isn't the future of anything. Stronger than ever? Lulz. Time will tell, I suppose.nb
    • Shockwave 3D (8.5) was released exactly 10 years ago todayAncillary
