I think your work is a lot stronger than the site itself - it feels a bit overly designed I think - from the background gradients to the typography.
Definitely too much work. Stuff like "Relative Q" tells me nothing about your design skill/sensibilities.
Cut the work in half, then you won't need the overwhelming filters on the left. Just a nice clean presentation of thumbnails - nothing distracting or confusing anyone.
Also - the way you coded it, you can't shift+click any of the thumbnails, so you're forced to view every piece of work one at a time. I desperately want to just pop open a bunch in tabs, but I can't.
