Regardless of whether you like their sound or are confused by their position in the music world, they have managed to bring to light something that many people may be unaware of and therefore using their music for positive effect - the tune ‘Evil Boy’ brings to light the Xhosa ritual of circumcision performed on 13 year old boys deep in the forest and without the use of proper medical supervision, safety or drugs... It transpires that many young boys die as a result of infection and those that do not go through with this ritual have not become men are shunned from their communities., something I especially admire in this world of repetitive boring love songs. Whatever you might think of them (I haven’t even made up my mind yet) they did indeed make you look.
