    I lived in Japan for about a year. Didn't need to lock the front door. Didnt need to chain up my bike. Came back to Australia and my dad's van was stolen from his office and torched. Went back to Japan and stayed i a Tokyo hostel. no lockers for luggage and everyone left their luggage in the open. Nothing was stolen. amazing.
