Ok...you go to the interview.
You make sure you get...and I mean MAKE SURE...everyone's name and email.
You figure out who the point of contact is. If you are not sure ask.
You email everyone you met with within 24 hours of the meeting. This is very important.
If you haven't heard back from the point of contact after 48-72 hours you send a note indicating that you are excited and putting your references together. Ask if there is anything that you can provide additionally and give an update on what you are doing - interviewing, wrapping up freelance work, etc. This isn't you begging for a job it is a courtesy between professionals.
Wait 3 days tapping foot....
Send another email to point of contact. make sure it has new fresh information that implies you are busy, in demand, let them know when you are available to meet again, when you are in the area perhaps for a different interview.
Continue following up with 'updates' every 3-5 days.
This will not go on past 2 weeks. You will either get this job or another.
