    hmmm.... my portable gear... mostly fits in a roller suitcase + a shoulder lightstand bag.... I can take most of it on the train or bus with some awkward effort..

    3 compact lightstands (Manfrotto Nano or similar)
    (also 5 normal lightstands if I need them)

    2 Westcott double-fold umbrellas

    1 PaulBuff Parabolic Light Modifier (smallest size)

    Home-made grids for the flashes

    Clamps and black cardstock, round reflectors,etc

    1 calumet diffusion panel 4x8 feet + frame

    4 lightstand->flash/umbrella adapters

    4 Cactus V5 radio flash transcievers(they use AAA's)
    (currently on order, now I use CTR-301p's, used to use Elinchrom Skyports, but their chargers baffled me, I like replaceable batteries)
    a pile of old flashes... I have about 8 I think... Sunpak 433/422/333 and 3 vivitar 283's modified for bare-bulb

    1 Calumet strip softbox, 1 Calumet square softbox, speedrings for Norman 200B which also fits the modified 283's.

    Norman 200B, Norman 400B battery pack higher-power flashes

    Speedotron 1500 + 103 heads for some gigs, but much less portable... but this + a gridded beauty dish = location heaven.

    black aluminum foil + gels... this has saved me more than once.

    • how do you like the paul buff plm? i've been thinking about getting one2
    • like it A LOT, but it's different from other modifiers, imagine a contrasty softbox with gridvaxorcist
