im not saying that the idea of curbing consumerism is wrong rasko. What adbusters is doing is dogging consumerism and then using it to their benefit. If they were really trying to make a difference they wouldn't charge 48$ for a subscription to their magazine and then sell merchandise for a new "holiday" that they just created out of nowhere. I hardly have a fatalist attitude, getting a little dramatic with the word play there dude. No consumerism will only help poverty thrive. Adbusters is my problem, not the idea that is supposedly driving them. Are you going to force people not to buy gifts for christmas? No, but if you can convey your message without looking like a hopelss fuckin hypocrite in the process then you would have a better chance than holding some meaningless event. (which ironically is one of the thing they are supposedly protesting).
